History
Simpson Park Camp Young Adults started in 2004 with about a dozen people, a few tents and a desire to provide a place for eighteen to thirty somethings to fellowship, study and hang out. Since then we have grown exponentially. We have moved from a small campsite in the back of the camp to the area between children’s valley and the pond. Last year we had fifty campers for the week and close to ninety that used some aspect of our program. We hope to continue to grow, not only in numbers, but in vision and discipleship.
Future
As we are dreaming towards the future we see opportunities like a dedicated facility for young adults, a year round young adult ministry, improving our morning worship service, a community outreach program, and a branching off into other areas like college, singles and young married ministries.
Mission
SPCYA was established for the following purposes:
- To provide a place for people 18-30 to feel welcomed and accepted
- To create a customized ministry that is tailored to the interests and needs of this age group
- To serve the camp and its ministries
- To fellowship and grow as Christian believers
